Who is Capital Resources?

Dean Crouch

CEO AND CO-FOUNDER

Dean Crouch is a co-founder and CEO of Capital Resources. He has been instrumental in taking the company from what was once a simple idea to a company that has provided over $700 million to small business owners across the country. Dean’s primary roles include business strategy, technology, marketing, new business development and problem solving. Prior to his time with Capital Resources, Dean spent approximately three years as a Vice President and loan officer for a Kansas City area lender. During his time there he focused primarily in insurance industry lending. Dean obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Missouri, Columbia and his Master’s degree in Business Administration from Kansas State University. He resides in Overland Park, KS with his wife and children.

James McKernan

COO AND CO-FOUNDER

James McKernan, co-founder of Capital Resources, Chief Operating Officer, has helped to lead Capital Resources from its inception in 2005. Since that time, Capital Resources has originated more than $700 million in insurance agency loans, nationwide. Before co-founding Capital Resources, James held a position with a Kansas City, Missouri based Energy Company, Aquila, in the company’s legal affairs group. Following Aquila, James held a senior counsel position with a publicly-traded Kansas corporation focusing on franchise development, asset-backed securities and general corporate law. James obtained his Bachelor of Science, Business Administration degree from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. James went on to earn his Juris Doctorate from Creighton University School of Law in 2000. James resides in Olathe, Kansas with his wife and sons.

Ian Oldenburger

PRESIDENT AND CO-FOUNDER

Ian Oldenburger, co-founder and President of Capital Resources is responsible for the growth and care of our loan participation network. Ian has raised more than $800MM for the purpose of commercial acquisitions and asset backed security placements. Ian has enjoyed growing our network of participating lenders to over 150 community banks. He also is a crucial part of Loan Committee and assists in marketing and planning. Ian resides in Overland Park, KS, likes to spend his free time with his family, who are in Colorado and Missouri. Ian received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Missouri-Columbia (MU). Ian’s specific field of interest was consumer and corporate economics.

Miriam Henry

SR. VP AND CHIEF LENDING OFFICER

Miriam partners with our external sales staff to structure, underwrite and present incoming loan requests. She more than 15 years of insurance industry lending experience. Miriam is one of the voting members of Capital Resources’ loan committee. Prior to her tenure in insurance agency lending, (which is by far her favorite type of lending), Miriam worked in the banking and finance field as a commercial loan officer, bank portfolio auditor, bank compliance officer, and bank credit analyst. Miriam graduated from Baker University with a bachelor’s degree in management.

Heath Sump

VICE PRESIDENT OF LOAN SERVICING

Heath has been with Capital Resources for more than 10 years and has over 15 years of experience in lending to Insurance Agency Entrepreneurs. Prior to working in lending Heath was a licensed insurance agent. Heath’s primary role at Capital Resources is processing all loan and investor payments, providing portfolio analysis and reporting, and providing customer service to borrowers and lenders. Heath graduated from Kansas State University with a BA in Business Marketing and Management.

Taylor Talmage

LOAN OPERATIONS

Taylor Talmage joined the Capital Resources team in 2007. She facilitates each step of the loan closing process by issuing loan commitments, orchestrating the signing of all loan closing documents, and much more. Taylor prides herself in making the loan process as seamless as possible for all of Capital Resources’ customers. Taylor is also responsible for inventory, vendor management, and other administrative roles. Taylor received her Associate of Applied Science in Business Administration from Johnson County Community College.

Staci Stark

COMPLIANCE OFFICER

Staci Stark joined Capital Resources in 2011 and is responsible for the collection of financial information from the customers and distribution to participating lenders. She also assists in the preparation of loan documents and loan closings. Before joining Capital Resources, she spent 25+ years in the Banking and Finance Industries, most of which was spent in consumer, commercial and mortgage lending. Staci obtained her Associate of Applied Science in Business Administration from Johnson County Community College.

Jett Trimmer

Vice President, Loan Originations

Jett Trimmer joined Capital Resources in 2022 during his internship and officially joined the team in 2023. Jett’s primary focus is bringing on new clients with a focus on Allstate agents and Financial Advisors.

He is also responsible for Capital Resource’s social media and assists in generation of new business. Jett has over five years of direct customer sales experience and continues to grow his skillset with Capital Resources. In his free time, Jett enjoys rock climbing, running, and spending time with his friends and family. Jett received his bachelor’s degree in finance from Missouri Western State University.
